Wyoming Home Security Alarm Monitoring Q&A

What home security system is best and why? ADT, Brinks, Slomin, etc.... who is the best and why? Please help decide which security system to purchase. Thanks! I mean seriously..... which security company should I use? No dogs... no walls.... ELECTRONIC SYSTEM.
I looked around a bit and read that ADT is probably the best bet. Sorry about all the "comedians" who feel the need to one up the last person with a humorous answer. Like they say, there is no such thing as a stupid question, but the people here prove that there's ... [full answer]
What is the best system for home security? Preferably something I can install myself What is the best system for home security? Regardless of price. Can you provide a link? I already have a dog fyi OK I guess I also have to add I have a 380 and a double barrel shotgun. So if you could just answer the question thanks. If you cant you should stick to answering questions you understand. oh I also have my ccl-conceal carry license- but that doesn't really matter on the home front because I'm not always home.

OnStar home security system - can they listen in without you knowing? On a GE system home security system panel, which uses OnStar, can the security system or anyone else "listen in" to your home without you knowing it? I know , I sound paranoid, but I have no experience with OnStar or anything like it and the salesman said that when the alarm is tripped the operator will be able to hear basically anyone in my house. I'm just wondering if it's possible for anyone at the security company (which I'm afraid isn't the most reputable) or some type of "hacker" could listen in to my home without the alarm indicating this or without there being any other indication.
we have something like that but its life-alert, we have a box with a loudspeaker on it, its also attached to our fire alarm, as soon as the system is tripped on our end the loudspeaker turns "live" and the office can hear what is going on in our house ... [full answer]
