Missouri Home Security Alarm Monitoring Q&A

Anyone have any information about a company called Icon Home Security? Icon Home Security is soliciting college students for summer positions. Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with this company. Thanks--
Maybe something here will be helpful ... http://www.iconhomesecurity.com/
If a home security camera catches a crime on it, can police enter the house and take the video? Without a warrant or a subpoena. - or if a store security camera catches a crime on it.
No, they would request it or serve the owner a subpoena. We also have a motion to preserve evidence we could serve the owner which basically orders them not to destroy or erase the tape while waiting for a subpoena. However, in my state a liquor store or medical marijuana establishment ... [full answer]
How to arm a home security system? We have a security system that isn't fully functional due to issues with the poor installation but we would still like to be able to arm it at night. Does anyone know how to simply turn on the chimes? No need to fully arm it so police or fire are notified (not like they get notified anyway since the system isn't functioning yet we pay), just want the noise if a door or window is opened. System is a Honeywell. Oh yeah, NEVER buy from Firstline Security out of Colorado. They take your monthly payments, stick you with a system that doesn't work, leave you with a defunct phone line and tell you to upgrade if you want it fixed or pay over $900 to have a non-functioning system removed! We're still fighting with them to fix our system. Nice gig if you can get it! We are locked into an agreement that they won't release us from even though the monitor company they go thru has admitted they can not see our system. So stopping payment would only send our account to collections. Not a smart move.
Egad, sorry to hear about your situation. Unfortunately I run into alot of people who have issues with poorly installed security systems and a lack of service - Just went to one yesterday and will be tearing it out next week. This is Particularly true when it comes to wireless, ... [full answer]
