What is Home Land Security and when did they come up with it? Does anyone know the main reason what Home Land Security is and what it is supposed to be doing? I haven't really heard too much about it in the news. Also, how did it come around and who thought about it?

Home Security? Last week I had a scary incident when a youth walked into my kitchen. It has made me think about home security. I know I need a door chain and perhaps an alarm. does anyone know where I can get help with this. I thought about help the aged, but I dont live in an area covered by their vans.
cc I don't know which area you live in but in wiltshire this service is available, try to google it for your area and you may find some help.
How much should I pay for my home security system? 3 doors, 1 motion detector, 1 keypad, 1 siren, 1 control panel, 1 lawn sign, 10 window stickers, and a certificate to get a home insurance discount...How much is all that worth if they are offering free installation too? Is $34.95 a month too much to pay for monitoring?
I would say 500-1000 dollars depending on what company and the quality of the work thats done. but yea 35 dollars a month for monitoring is a good price a month.
