Indiana Home Security Alarm Monitoring Q&A

What company provides the best home security system? Is there a website I can look at ratings on the top security systems?
There are several good websites that compare anti-virus and security programs: http://www.av-comparatives.org/ http://www.cnet.com/topic-reviews/antivirus.html http://www.itreviews.co.uk/software/soft8.htm http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/reviews/index.cfm?prodcatid=31 However, these ratings vary depending on the reviewer. If you want some personal advice, I advise getting Kaspersky Internet Security 2009. This really has everything that you want in a home-secuity package: http://www.pcpro.co.uk/reviews/215340/kaspersky-internet-security-2009.html http://www.kaspersky.co.uk/kaspersky_internet_security I would also advise getting Super Anti-Spyware Pro. ... Brinks home security system disabled following a power outage.? My Brinks home-security system was working fine until a long power-outage drained the system battery. When the power came back, the battery eventually recharged, but the keypad display remains blank. The buttons beep when you press them, but nothing works. I called Brinks and they said this behavior is by design. They eluded to the fact the system could be reactivated over the phone line ... but they ended the call because I'm not paying monthly to have the system monitored. Does anyone know how to re-activate this system?
It sounds like the alarm panel lost its programming. In theory, this shouldn't happen because the program should be stored in non-volatile memory. Unfortunately, Brinks is probably the only one that has the access codes and/or programming device necessary to restore the program. Most Brink's panels are designed especially for them ... Can anyone recommend a good camera for home security? I am certain someone is coming in my home when I'm asleep and at work, but have no way to prove this. I woke up last night to someone running out of my bedroom but have no idea how they got in or out of my house. Unless I can prove this is happening people are going to start doubting my credibility. I need a good surveillance camera to put in my home preferably one that works in the dark and doesn't have any visible lights so that the intruder doesn't realize he's being filmed. Does anyone have any suggestions?
That's a scary thing - thinking someone is invading your space while you are not around. I think it's a very good idea to get a home security camera in your place. I would check out the home cameras at, http://www.spytown.com/ I think the best bet for ... [full answer]
